Text entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of those queries. When you contact us, we receive the details you decide to provide and use them to address your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting service creates normal technical logs containing an IP address, browser type, time, and requested page. Aggregated log data helps maintain the site and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic traffic analysis and advertising measurement where those features apply.
How We Use the Information
Limited visitor data supports site operation, error diagnosis, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to North Carolina government portals, county custodians, libraries, and outside search services. Information sent to any linked service is controlled by that service's own privacy terms. The same rule applies to sponsored results supplied through a third party.
When Information Is Shared
Hosting and support vendors process technical logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatically collected information described above. We may also respond to valid legal process, but otherwise do not distribute visitor data.
Safeguarding Limited Data
An encrypted connection protects traffic to the site. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for the stated purposes. Since North Carolina People Search has no user accounts, it holds no account password or personal profile for visitors.
Visitors Under Age 18
This resource is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted such information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to inspect, correct, or delete personal data depend on where a visitor lives. North Carolina currently has no comprehensive consumer privacy or data-broker statute that grants every resident one universal deletion right. Its protections are record-specific, including Chapter 132 confidentiality rules, the Identity Theft Protection Act, and the Address Confidentiality Program under Chapter 15C. Because we retain very little, a request generally involves checking contact messages and available logs. Use the Contact page to ask. A state, county, or city custodian controls its own public records and must receive any request concerning those records.
